About the Chamber

The Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization supported by its membership, activities that it sponsors, Chairman’s Circle Members and the City of Moreno Valley.

Members invest in the Chamber to support group efforts to make Moreno Valley a better place to live and do business. The Chamber is governed by an active Board of Directors.

Moreno Valley’s Chamber members include small businesses, merchants and professionals, nationally recognized corporations, educational and health institutions, and community organizations. The Chamber provides opportunities for business professionals to come together for different networking events to promote their business to others in the community.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce is to advance the economic, civic, educational and cultural growth of Moreno Valley, to enhance the quality of life in the community, and to foster the continuous improvement of Moreno Valley as a place to conduct business and enjoy life.

Purpose

Creating a Strong Economy

• The Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to helping local companies grow their business by taking the lead in supporting programs and efforts that help create a strong local economy and make our community a great place to do business.

Some examples are the bi-monthly Business Roundtable, surveys, workshops and seminars.

Promoting the Community

• The Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce also takes the lead in promoting shop Local, Shop Chamber member campaign, participating in efforts to improve our quality of life and by advocating our community as a great place for people to do business, work and raise a family.

Some examples are member/shop local decals, highlighting local points of interest (trails, parks etc.) and business accomplishments (#1 stores in California or chain)

Networking Opportunities

• The networking opportunities at the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce have provided an opportunity for members to sell their products and services to their peers and benefit from ideas and savings that have enhanced their bottom line.

Some examples are Business In Action, Wake-Up Moreno Valley and Mixers to name a few. For the 2010 year we have held over 150 networking/events that have brought over 2,600 (combined) number of people together to exchange information and business opportunities.

Representing the Interest of Business with Government

• The Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce works year-round to ensure local elected officials and other decision makers are educated on the impact their actions have on the local economy.

Some examples are permitting issues, signage regulations and license fee structure.

Legislative Action

• The Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce is concerned about making sure bills and measures are business friendly, and by making sure the elected officials understand issues from a business point of view.

Some examples are support of “Voters First Act for Congress” and opposition to the job killer “Independent Contractor Withholding” initiative.
