Kaiser Medical Center Approved for 20-year Expansion ProjectNews Release: 5/15/2020MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (May 15, 2020) -- The health care footprint in Moreno Valley is going to grow with the City's recent approval of Kaiser Medical Center's 20-year expansion plan. Kaiser, located on a 30-acre site at 27200 Iris Ave., will add 1,125,000 square feet of medical services space, including an expansion of its current 100-bed hospital to an eventual 460-bed facility.
"Health care is a growth industry and we welcome Kaiser's long-term vision and commitment to Moreno Valley," said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley.
Kaiser hopes to start construction of the first phase of its three-phase project later this year Phase 1 will include construction of a 95,000 square foot Diagnostic and Treatment Center; a 22,000 square foot Energy Center, and a temporary parking lot.
Phase 2 is scheduled to begin in 2025 and will include a 380,000 square foot North and East Patient Bed Tower and Diagnostic and Treatment Center; a 65,000 square foot Medical Office Building (Building No. 3); an 8,000 square foot expansion to the Energy Center; and two parking structures.
The third and final phase will include construction of a 375,000 square foot West and South Patient Bed Tower; a 95,000 square foot Medical Office Building (Building No. 4); and a parking structure.
Kaiser expects the expanded facility will create 4,000 new jobs in the medical field.###
